Hazel.

Everyone in Tim's family has hazel eyes. Tim is the only one that has blue and even they turn greenish depending on what he wears. Owen was born with unbelievable blue eyes. At around 18 months they started turning a little and now they are full on hazel. I am so jealous.

One of those days.

I love my children but sometimes I do miss some things. Today is one of those days where you wish so hard for just an hour of quiet. I remember the days when I had daily showers, had time to do my hair and nails and got to watch movies that didn't involve sesame street. I remember the days when I had a full nights rest, when my clothes actually fit and weren't covered in spit up, boogers, or peanut butter. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and I miss those days. After a moment of self pity I really start to remember those days. Though I had a lot more freedom, nicer clothes and was always clean I just can't imagine ever going back. Sure my kids are often crying at the same time and I've got two babies on my hips while trying to stir sometimes on the stove but when they're not crying and running a mock they're giggling, giving me hugs and kisses, smiling at one another and showing me just how much love I have to give to them. Some days are absolutely crazy and I just want to cry/scream/jump off a fire escape but when those moments pass the happiness I get from my beautiful family is well worth the chaos.

Baby Dolly.

Because I think she's adorable. :-)

Easter.

Easter snuck up on us this year! With all the chaos of Owen's birthday week we completely forgot to do an Easter egg hunt or any baskets. Tim nervously said to me on the way home from church, "I really hope you didn't secretly get me anything for Easter so I'm not the jerk who didn't remember." Turns out we were both jerks because we both forgot entirely!

Owen & June got spoiled by both their grandparents and even our neighbors!

June's first easter! I tried to make her a dress but was unsuccessful! (Patterns are so confusing!) So once again my Mom came to the rescue and made this lovely dress for baby dolly just in time!

Owen loved dunking the eggs.

Easter basket for our neighbors.

Tim teases Owen by putting things up his shirt or in his sleeves.
Now Owen thinks you're SUPPOSED to put things there. Nice, Tim.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Twosies.

Our little guy turned two! I can't believe it! He is learning more and more things everyday and more than ever just wants to be a "big boy." He is constantly trying to do what Tim & I do and gets so upset if we don't let him. (ie: he tries to climb into the driver seat and gets mad when we put him in his carseat. Sorry Owen! You've got 14 more years!)

We took him to a place called "Hoots," for his birthday.
He had several inflatable slides and houses to his disposal but...

he spent most of his time on "the phone."

He also found himself a girlfriend.

We had a little party for him with all his friends over the weekend.
It was fun to see so many kids in one space!

Opening gifts.

The aftermath.

too old to take pictures with mom.

his beloved bubble machine.

I was pretty lazy this year and made the easiest food possible. In all the hussle and bussle we didn't take ANY pictures or videos until AFTER our guests left. Whew!

We love our Owen oh so much! He is the silliest little guy and it breaks my heart that one day he won't think I'm cool anymore. He's definitely in his terrible two's on somedays (ie: screaming, kicking, dramatic fish-like outbursts.) but he is also so creative and amazes us with things he has figured out. He's getting his 2 year molars in right now (SUUUPER fun.) and just today said the word, "shoe!"

We're so lucky to have you baby boy!

us, lately.

Sunday Best.

 Lounging.

waving to the birds at the zoo.

with Tim out of school and just waiting for graduation our days are pretty random. We can't wait til the mystery of where we are moving is solved and for Tim to finally walk at graduation!

Day Tripper.

Yesterday Tim and I were sick of being in limbo with our move being inevitable but still unknown so we hopped in the car and drove a few hours away to a New Mexican tourist spot.

splish splash.

We like to take pictures of our kids in the bath so we can embarrass/blackmail them when they're teenagers. :-)

cuddle-fest.

Owen loves to cuddle/hold/wrestle June. Now that she's got a little more weight on her she's starting to actually like when he's around. There has been a lot of cuddling in our house the last few weeks. Tim and I have been sleeping on the pull out couch in the living room since Queen June has taken over our bedroom. White it's not ideal it does make some fun cuddle time in the mornings. Owen will come and climb up and cuddle with Tim and I and June joins us an hour or two later. Makes sleeping in the living room in your own house not so bad. :-)

Twin Tornados.

Poor baby dolly has TWO cowlicks.
That with a mom who is clueless about hair and this poor girl is in for some serious hair needs.

We like to call them the Twin Tornados. They go right into each other so it makes her hair stick straight up in the back. Poor, poor bug.

4 months.

June turned 4 months at the beginning of the month. We're a little behind!

Height: 24 inches
Weight: 12.8 lbs

What she's up to:
-talks like a pigeon. her voice vibrates when she makes noise it's pretty funny.
-still working on rolling over
-will finally sit instead of stand in your lap
-giggles
-loooooves dad. loves to hear him talk.
-Grabs everything! She's always got a tight grip onto the nearest object.
-Had her first set of pigtails!
-Still prefers to face outward when she's held but she's starting to tolerate other holds.
-Hangs on like a koala when I hold her on my hip
-She's very wiry so we have to make sure to swaddle her tightly or she kicks out the bottom and ends up with a tube of blanket near her face.
-Makes lots of noises.
-Not sleeping great but we got the go-ahead a little while ago that we can teach her how to sleep.
-Can move herself in a circle on her back.

We love you baby bug!

shannanigans.

What we've been up to lately:

lots of baths.
We're trying to get June on a bedtime routine and I think it's finally sticking! We give her a bath around 7pm and put her down around 7:45pm. That leaves us just enough time to clean up the living room that Owen has inevitably destroyed, say prayers with the little man and put him to bed as well.

Getting fat.
I think June had a growth spurt just recently because she was eating every 2 hours day AND night.
Also, she might be teething! Yikes!

Smiling & Cooing galore.
June's personality is coming out more and more and she is such a doll! She's so passive and quietly silly. When she coos her voice vibrates and she sounds like a pigeon. :-)

Stare Downs.
This is usually the face I get when I'm fighting tooth and nail to get her to laugh.
Tim can get her to laugh without effort. I guess Mom is a lame-oh.

Stripping Down.
Owen loves to be naked. The less clothes the better. With is warming up here We've let him go crazy a few times but for the sake of our viewers we put a t-shirt on him.

Love.
This little guy LOVES his sister. Whenever I bring her out in the morning he goes crazy wanting to hold and kiss her. I don't think Owen would have learned to give hugs and kisses without her!

Liking.
June is finally starting to like Owen's company. He's gotten her to smile several times instead. It's nice to see her laughing instead of crying before he even touches her. :-)

Being silly.
Owen surprises me everyday with more silly things. The other day he taught me just how many dance moves he could learn from watching "Hairspray." HIL-ARIOUS.

Discovering new faces.
June has so many facial expressions. I attribute this one to my link to the mofia. I think she has a real future in intimidation. :-)

As for Tim and I we are just enjoying our family time now that he is done with school. He's been interviewing like crazy all over the place and we're hoping to land a spot with Cardinal Nuclear Pharmacies. We've been making a list of things to do in NM before the move so more adventures to come! Surprisingly moving is bittersweet for us. We've really come to love ABQ and our friends here. I never thought I'd say this but...I love you ABQ!
